Holcim Philippines statement on alternative fuels held at other ports

Our Company does not have a shipment of processed engineered fuels (“PEF”) at the Subic port. Our two shipments of PEF for 2019 arrived at the Davao and Tagoloan Ports.

As mentioned in an earlier statement, the use of PEF for cement manufacturing is allowed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environment Management Bureau. Since last year, our Company has been importing PEF in accordance with proper Bureau of Customs procedures and regulations. Our Company has consistently, truthfully, and accurately declared our shipments of PEF under the ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature No. 3825.10.00 based on the Tariff Commodity Classification Ruling No. 15-127. With these, our Company filed on May 24, 2019 an official request to the District Collector of Region 10 for the release of our PEF shipment held by Customs at the Tagoloan Port.

We are confident that the Customs will find that everything is in order. Rest assured that our Company is committed to compliance to government regulations and will respect and comply with the decision on this matter.
